    You search in the dark for the phone receiver.  After knocking a glass of water onto your television's remote control, you discover the phone.  "Hello", you answer.  A woman's scratchy voice begins....
     "Detective, Lt. Johnson wants you to report to 100 E. New
      St.  A.S.A.P. (that's "as soon as possible" in English)."
    Before you can get a word in the dispatcher has hung up.  Good Morning, Detective!
     You struggle out of bed and slip into your clothes.  You walk outside.  It's a windchill of 35 below zero.  Your mind tries to escape back to the Florida Keys as you enter your Dodge sedan.  The car is not a Don "Miami Vice" Johnson Italian Hot Rod but it's better than a rusty green Yugo.  After stopping at Big Bertha's Donut Hut you continue on your merry way.
